Updates in progress for Bag +5

Hey guess what? I'm working on an update for Bag +5.

There's a list of things I've been thinking about for a long, long, long time and I've finally started working on some of them. If you've never heard of Bag +5, it's an app for holding gear and merchant stores in tabletop RPG games like D&D 5e and Pathfinder. It is as rules neutral as possible, so you can use it for any kind of fantasy rpg games. The idea is to take the inventory system you'd expected from a video game and give it to you for playing pen & paper games around the table with friends.

Here's what I'm working on:

  • I've added a help overlay for the first time users running the app. I've worried from some of my reviews that some users don't immediately understand the concept behind the app and they've given up before really exploring it to figure it out. Hopefully this makes it easier
  • I've added more art packs for customizing the look of your gear. This was a more involved change to the app than you might think
  • I have improved the functionality of the Journal Item (not pictured)
  • One of the coolest new features I am working on is underway. I'm planning a way to do cross-promoting with the app and D&D podcasts. I'll be able to remotely add items to the app that can then be added into the app's Store. These items will be designed by the podcasters and they'll include a link in the app to navigate to the podcasts if you want. Hopefully this will help promote the app and some cool podcasts and youtube channels.

if you see my post on Patreon, you can see a few more screenshots.

There's more to do. I'm not sure when it will be ready. It will roll out on Android first, then IOS, and then I'm going to have to do some more work rebuilding this for the PC, Linux, and Mac builds. So those will be further down the road.

Thanks for reading.
